James 2:14-17
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
The Bible teaches that as Christians we are justified by faith alone, but the faith that justifies is never alone. Good works always flow from the gratitude we feel to the Lord for the salvation we have by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
In response to the Biblical mandate found in James 2:14-17, Sunrise Church has partnered with Rabson and Hellen Nyanchama to help provide food, clothing, housing, and educational needs to approximately 30 orphan children in Utubora village, near Kisii, Kenya.
The current monthly need to feed, clothe, house, and educate the 30 kids is only $1200 USD per month. The children’s needs could be met by just 30 regular gifts of $40 per month. However, we invite you to participate in supporting the kids at any dollar amount, as the Lord leads you.
